Welcome to Woodbury School
Woodbury School is a small rural primary school, with six teachers and approximately 110 students. We cater for students in Years 1 – 6 and are a contributing school to Geraldine High School. We are a short drive from Geraldine, with a beautiful outlook at the foothills of the Four Peaks Range. We are proud of our country character and our provision of a well-balanced education. Our ability to keep class sizes around 20 students enables teachers to spend more 1-1 time with students, and with four Teacher Aides we are able to support students with a range of needs.
Our “PEAK” school values reinforce what is important to our community. The ability to “Persevere”, showing “Empathy” and “Acceptance” and the willingness to search for “Knowledge” are core aspects which are explicitly taught at Woodbury School.
Our spacious grounds include a playing field, extensive plantation for creative play, a low-level ropes course, netball court, indoor heated swimming pool (with after school swimming lessons in Terms 1 and 4), vegetable gardens and large bike track. We support all students with digital learning and rather than ask families to purchase devices, the Board choose to provide technology for all students.
Integral to Woodbury School is our incredibly supportive community who are always willing to support our school, including regular events such as Pet Day, Flower and Craft Show, Matariki Celebration, Grandparents Day, and a range of sporting events. Our Home and School group is well run and very well-supported, raising significant funds for the school as well as helping with school events.
We run our own bus within our transport zone for students. We also provide a parent-funded town bus, which leaves George Street in Geraldine for the short trip to Woodbury at 8.35am and arrives back at 2.50pm every school day.

Each year if we have spaces, the Board of Trustees ballot for out of zone new entrant students. If you are interested in finding out more or having a tour of the school please email, phone or call in.
