In 2015, the Secretary of Education formally notified Woodbury School that it was required to establish an enrolment scheme to avoid future overcrowding.

 

This requirement was due to the strong and rapid growth in the Woodbury School roll in the last few years and the fact that the Ministry would not fund the development of any additional classrooms beyond that already approved.

 

After a consultation process, the Ministry of Education implemented the enrolment scheme, which came into effect in June 2016. Each year the Board review our roll to determine whether we have spaces to ballot for out of zone students the following year.

Woodbury School run our School Bus route, resourced from the Ministry. Students within our Transport Entitlement Zone (TEZ) are entitled to this bus. In addition, we privately fund a Ritchies bus to collect children from the Raukapuka area of the Geraldine township. There is a cost per student for this bus.
